Your Responsibility
- All signers must be present in person Every signer must have proper photo identification
- Must be completely able to understand the significance of the document
- and Must sign of their own free will Document must be completely filled in
- no blank spaces (except client signature & notarization section)
- By law CA notaries cannot give legal advice - please be sure to speak with your attorney or other advisor and get answers to any questions you may have BEFORE you meet me for the signing!
Acceptable
Photo IDs
- Photo identification must be valid (not expired and not temporary) and can include:
- 1. CA driver's license or non-driver ID (such as Senior ID) from CA Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) US passport
- 2. Additional forms of ID can be accepted if they are valid (not expired and not temporary) AND contain photo signature serial number and physical description
- including:
- - Driver's license or non-driver ID from another US state
- - Driver's license issued by Mexico or Canada
- - Valid passport or consular identifiication from signer's country of citizenship
- -Employee ID card from any state or county or city agency or office in CA
- -US military ID that contains all the required elements (e.g. not the CAC)
- -ID card issued by a federally recognized tribal government
